A power supply with an ultra-low noise level

The Aavik SD-880 is designed to ensure massive power resources with an ultra-low noise level. Using a resonant mode design driven by sine waves, this series achieves a noise level that is significantly lower than conventional power supplies. This unique approach also increases peak power when needed, delivering unmatched musical performance.

A cabinet with impressive design and acoustic properties 

With the SD-880, Aavik has taken their cabinet design to a new level. Here, art merges with engineering in a philosophy focused on one thing- the ultimate sound quality. Flemming Erik Rasmussen and Michale Børresen have developed a design consisting only of the materials with the best sonic properties, lowest inductance, and best resonance control. The choice of materials and the design not only create an aesthetic expression, but also contribute to the amplifier’s musical performance.

One of the most striking details of the SD-880 is its solid copper enclosure, chosen for its visual expression and sonic properties. The copper reduces hysteresis, lowers the output impedance, and ensures cooler operation. Together, this creates a much better reproduction of the music with more energy and power.

The base plate of the SD-880 has also been optimized and consists of a sandwich construction  with a copper plate, a heavy compact laminate plate, and a titanium layer at the bottom. This unique construction ensures minimal resonance and supports a natural and organic sound.

Aavik Streaming App

With the Aavik app, it has never been easier to listen to music from the endless universe of streaming services. Everything can be controlled directly from your iPad, where you can easily browse and choose your favorite songs from various streaming services such as Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, and vTuner.

Innovative technologies from Ansuz 

The SD-880 streamer draws on all the knowledge and experience that Audio Group Denmark has gained through their Ansuz products. That is why the streamer is equipped with all the latest technologies and innovations from the Ansuz series, in order to achieve a sound quality that is entirely unprecedented. 

The Tesla Coil Principle

Ansuz Tesla coils ensure effective noise reduction by generating opposite voltages to eliminate noise. The active Tesla coil version is three to four times more effective than the passive version, and the active square Tesla coil is integrated directly onto the circuit board for impressive noise reduction. In the SD-880 you will find no fewer than 314 active Tesla coils and 633 active square Tesla coils, which provide an incredibly black background. This means that every detail in the recording suddenly becomes audible, and the music reproduction becomes far more dynamic. 

3rd Generation Analog Dither Technology 

Ansuz’s 3rd generation of analog dither technology amplifies the music signal and eliminates unwanted background noise. With the latest upgrade, the soundstage opens up even more and reveals more details in the sound reproduction than ever before. 

Active Zirconium Anti Aerial Resonance Tesla Coil

Ansuz has implemented a zirconium rod in their anti aerial resonance design to achieve outstanding resonance control. The addition of zirconium results in a natural soundstage that is truly second to none in terms of purity, precision, and attention to musical detail.

Ansuz Darkz Z2 Signature as isolation feet

Each of the four feet of the Aavik 880 is carefully designed to house an Ansuz Darkz resonance control unit. In their top model, nothing has of course been spared, and therefore four Ansuz Darkz Z2 units are included as an integrated part of the SD-880.

Ansuz Darkz Z2S stands out from the other Darkz through the use of zirconium, which adds a completely unique resonance control, resulting in remarkable musical refinement. Darkz Z2 Signature is further acoustically optimized with an exclusive Ansuz Signature coating on each disc. The internal decoupling balls between the discs are made of tungsten, which is a premium material known for its stability and ability to control resonance.
