Leading audio manufacturers hire him to carry out their most demanding installations, underscoring his expertise and recognition in the industry. His deep understanding of system matching makes him one of the best in the country when it comes to getting all components to perform optimally together.

Thomas’ expertise also extends to cables and power, where he ensures that customers make the right choices to get the maximum out of their systems. He is also a master of turntables, and his precise adjustments mean that your vinyl has never sounded better.

Here is the order in which you should upgrade your system.

For decades, people have prioritized speakers, amplifiers, and then the source when building their system. However, that is a mistake, for the same reason that you do not start by building the roof of a house. You start with the foundation, and that begins at the power outlet.

Power is your system’s fuel, so there must not be anything limiting it when your equipment needs it. It is also crucial that no noise gets in from the mains and contaminates your system. A good foundation takes care of all of that.

Below, we have gathered our 5 steps for how you should upgrade your system.

The power cable

The power cable from the wall outlet to the power strip is the most important component in your system, because it sets the bar for the performance you can achieve. Your amplifier, source, and speakers cannot perform better than the conditions they are given to work with.

If you start with the wrong cable, it will never get any better than that. Therefore, you should prioritize buying the best possible cable to supply power to the power strip from the wall outlet, so that nothing limits your system.

2. The power strip

The next step in the upgrade is the power strip, which distributes the power and grounding. It is the heart of your system, and it enables your components to exchange their different grounding potentials. The grounding carries the noise away from your components so the signals are not contaminated and distorted.

In a power strip from IsoTek, the noise-reducing technology is connected in parallel with the power draw, so there is nothing that limits the system. The design provides extremely low impedance, allowing the electronics to get all the power they need – instantly!

3. Network switch

The internet brings an incredible amount of noise with it because it is a “floating” network. In other words, there is no grounding to drain the noise away. That is why it is a good idea to use a network switch and a wired network. A high-quality network switch lowers the noise level with its built-in noise reduction.

An extra benefit is that a HiFi network switch has a high-quality power supply. This means that no additional noise is introduced into the signal and passed on to the other components. In this way, a good network switch makes all the components sound better.

4. Disconnecting your system

Vibrations arise in your components, which develop into resonances and limit the performance of your system. That is why we offer a wide selection of resonance-controlling products that can provide all your HiFi equipment with a significant upgrade.

All products from IsoAcoustics are about managing vibrations so they are not sent back to where they came from, where they will be out of phase and timing. Once you have tried IsoAcoustics products, you will discover that nothing can perform to its full potential without them.

5. The other cables

When everything else is in place, it's about protecting the delicate signal. The cables we carry have incredibly low inductance, effective shielding, and a low noise level. This ensures that you get all the fine nuances from the signal, so you get the most out of your system.
