Metronome - Hand-assembled high-end products

There are many high-end manufacturers on the market, but it is not everyday to see French manufacturers. But now Métronome Technologie has come to Denmark. The design philosophy is quite simple, namely to deliver hand-assembled products of very high quality that can play both new and traditional formats.

The story behind Metronome

Métronome Technologie was founded in 1987 by the craftsman Dominique Giner, who had a great passion for music. Before founding the company, Dominique Giner had designed special hi-fi furniture specifically designed like a metronome. (A metronome is a small device used by musicians to signal fixed beats in music either by sound or light).

The furniture was a great success with a sale of over 1200 pieces of furniture, and it gave Dominique the necessary capital to start Métronome Technologie with headquarters in the Tarn district, southwest of the city of Roquemaure close to Toulouse.

From the start, Dominique Giner's main focus was interested in the CD player as a medium, and in the optimization of digital to analogue conversion. Today, the company still has their main focus on digital sources and conversion, although they have produced both speakers and turntables over the years.

Metronome's best-known products

The first product from Giner's hand was created in collaboration with Janis, and had the model designation Jadis CD Transport JD 1. Subsequently, however, the products came under the Métronome model designation. For example, the very impressive Kalista CD transport, which was the product that put Metronome on the world map.

In 2014, Christian Bat and Jean-Marie Clauzel took over Métronome from Dominique Giner, but Dominique Giner continued as chief designer.

Métronome Technologies is still a micro company within the Hi-Fi world, with very few employees and a few French external partners who are involved to ensure that the quality is the best on the market. For example, Métronome Technologies is one of the very few manufacturers that manually install printed circuit boards themselves.
