Rega Planar 6 - A legendary turntable with external Neo-PSU mkII
One of the most anticipated turntables in Rega's Planar series has undoubtedly been the Planar 6. Here you get reference sound without having to stretch your budget too much, as you normally would when you want the very last sonic improvements. This combination of performance and price means that the Planar 6 has all the ingredients to become a new bestseller and critics' favorite. Just like its predecessor, the P6, did. And The Ear and Hi-F are already in agreement:
"The Rega Planar 6 is a heck of a turntable... I would challenge you to find a better turntable and arm combo for less than three times the asking price here." - Jason Kennedy, The Ear
"Partnered with Rega's Ania moving-coil cartridge it delivers a level of performance that is pretty much untouchable." - Ed Selley - Hi-Fi Choice.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Award-winning turntable
- Fantastic timing, detail, and dynamics
- Refined and precise sound reproduction
- Plinth made from a super lightweight material originally developed for the aerospace industry
- New one-piece aluminum subplatter

A new and improved turntable
A lot of improvements have been made to the new Planar 6 since the old P6. Its predecessor came equipped with an Exact MM cartridge, but the new one can be chosen with an ND5, ND7, or an Ania Pro cartridge. This lets you choose exactly the version of the Planar 6 that best suits your listening preferences. In other words, whether you want the more dynamic sound of an MM or the higher level of detail of an MC is entirely up to you.
Another major improvement in the Planar 6 is its brand-new plinth, which draws inspiration from Rega's much more expensive Planar 8 and Planar 10 models. It is therefore built in a sandwich construction with an ultra-light foam core and a layer of high-pressure laminate that is both incredibly thin and rigid. Both of these qualities ensure that the weight of the turntable is kept as low as possible while also providing optimal rigidity, making it possible to create the ultimate turntable. The whole thing is finished in a fantastic matte gray Polaris finish with black high-gloss edge trim.
Mounted on top of the fantastic plinth is the all-new RB-330 tonearm, the culmination of more than 35 years of experience. The brand-new bearing housing and tonearm design ensure extremely stable and nearly friction-free movement, enabling it to extract more information from your vinyl than ever before. Added to this are Rega's upgraded white drive belt, glass platter, and the new Neo-PSU power supply, which takes its solutions from the flagship RP10 to guarantee accurate rotation and optimal anti-vibration control.
Rega Planar 6 is available in several different versions. It can be supplied with a Rega Nd5 cartridge, Rega Nd7 cartridge, and Rega Ania PRO installed. All versions include Rega's external Neo-PSU power supply.
