At first glance, it may therefore be difficult to see why you should choose to buy Rega's Aethos, but only until you have heard it. Aethos delivers a class-leading combination of insight, rhythm, precision, detail, and agility that is only possible because Rega has been completely uncompromising in its choice of components. Rega has equipped Aethos with no fewer than eight 160-watt 16-ampere Sanken Darlington output transistors, capable of delivering 156 W per channel into 6 ohms. In other words, Aethos has plenty of power behind its watts, and you can hear it in the lively ease with which Aethos reproduces music.

Innovative design solutions

Rega has used its resources to develop the circuitry and construction using high-quality components throughout. Rega has integrated the headphone jack so that speaker switching is carried out by an outpout mute relay, which does not affect the signal path or degrade sound quality.

Rega has equipped the preamplifier with a discrete Class A circuit with FET's, ensuring minimal noise and maximum dynamics, creating a musical experience that is as authentic as possible. Another innovation is Rega's unique dual mono circuit, which uses a custom-built toroidal transformer and regulated supplies for the sensitive output and driver stages, allowing Aethos to reproduce music with the authority it does.
