For far too long, speaker manufacturers have developed large and bulky subwoofers in order to move all the air required by deep 20 Hz vibrations. That stops with the KC62. KEF’s innovative technologies mean that the KC62 can deliver sensational bass performance that defies the usual understanding of what is possible from such a small subwoofer with 2 x 6.5” drivers. Technology that redefines the subwoofer 

KEF has truly outdone itself with the development of the KC62, because it features two genuinely groundbreaking technologies. The first is Uni-Core technology, which combines the rear ends of the drivers facing each other in a single motor system. This not only reduces the cabinet size by a third, but also allows the drivers to travel much farther than normal, meaning the KC62 can move just as much air as much larger subwoofers.

The second innovation is KEF’s brand-new P-Flex drivers, inspired by the Japanese paper art of Origami, as they have folded the drivers’ surrounds so they can better handle the internal air pressure created inside the cabinet. The construction provides a unique combination of strength and lightness, allowing the drivers to move far more easily and precisely than is possible with traditional, heavier surrounds. Together, the Uni-Core and P-Flex innovations ensure that the KC62 can deliver fast, precise, and almost subterranean bass with full control.

However, the range of innovative technologies does not stop there, because KEF has also equipped the KC62 with a tailor-made DSP and Smart Distortion Control Technology, which together with the custom-designed 1000W Class D amplifier deliver transparent and powerful bass extension without distortion.

That is because the KC62 is equipped with Room Placement EQ, which through five preset sound profiles lets you place it freestanding in the room, against the wall, in the corner, inside a cabinet, or in a dedicated apartment mode.
