JBL Synthesis SCL-7XL - Built-in speaker with directional sound for home theater

JBL Synthesis SCL-7XL is an in-wall speaker developed for home theaters where you want a discreet solution that also gives you the ability to direct the sound precisely toward the listening position. It works as both a surround and center channel and fits well into installations where the speaker cannot necessarily be placed ideally. With a compression driver, HDI horn, and dual 6.5” woofers, you get a solution that operates with control and preserves the details in the soundstage.

Directional sound toward the listening position

SCL-7XL is designed with an offset HDI™ horn, making it possible to “aim” the sound toward the area where you are seated. This provides more focused reproduction, especially in installations where the speaker is placed above or below a screen. Dialogue and effects are experienced more directly and clearly, even when the placement is not entirely traditional.

Consistent reproduction in different setups

The speaker can be mounted both vertically and horizontally without the typical challenges of uneven dispersion. The combination of compression driver and HDI horn ensures that the sound is distributed evenly throughout the room, giving multiple seats a coherent experience. This makes it suitable as both a center and surround channel in a home theater system.

Stable performance and flexible installation

The two 6.5” woofers work together in a 2-way construction, delivering balanced reproduction with a firm and controlled low end. At the same time, the option for bi-wire or bi-amp adds extra flexibility in more advanced setups.
