Streaming has been one of the key focus areas, which is why Focus 10 can literally play anything digital. The wireless speakers are equipped with Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Roon, Bluetooth, and local network features, so you can play digital content both online and from your network hard drive at home.

The built-in WiSA technology also allows the speakers to connect wirelessly to a compatible TV or a USB dongle. That removes the need for a large home theater system, so you suddenly have more space in your living room. And the beauty of it is that everything is so simple. It requires minimal setup time, because it only takes two cables to the wall sockets and an intuitive app to customize and set presets. A new way to listen

An active speaker does not mean a single amplifier per speaker. It means a single amplifier per driver. For Focus 10, that means two amplifiers for each speaker. So why use one amplifier for each individual tweeter and woofer/midrange driver? Because it gives far more control over the speakers' performance. And that means each driver sounds as good as it possibly can, without compromise. There are no losses here like those found in traditional speaker crossovers.

To keep everything under control, Dynaudio has equipped Focus 10 with sophisticated DSP technology (digital signal processing). Here they have taken all the lessons they learned while creating their award-winning Focus XD, Xeo, LYD, and Core series. They have used that to create a system that is just as effective as it is easy to use. You simply tell the speakers where they are in your room (near a wall, in a corner, or in free space), and they will optimize their performance for that position. Everything can be done easily and intuitively in the Dynaudio app, and if you want to dive even deeper into speaker calibration, there is optional Dirac Live technology for fully tailored results.

Even the magnetic grille has been made smart by Dynaudio. Focus 10 has specific EQ settings for whether the grille is in use or not (you know the lower adjustment is active when you see the light briefly glow blue).

There is muscle to go with the brains as well. With a total of 390W of Class-D Pascal amplification under the hood in each speaker (110W for the tweeter and 280W for the midrange/woofer), Focus 10 is ready to fill even a medium-sized room with high-quality sound. In fact, we would say they fill more than a speaker of their size has any right to. There is even an automatic fail-safe system to ensure the speakers are not damaged when turned up to neighbor-annoying levels: a custom sliding high-pass filter reduces the woofer's excursion as the volume increases. So you can play loud with peace of mind.

Impressive drivers, impressive technology

In Focus 10, you will find a 28 mm Cerotar soft-dome tweeter that uses techniques and materials developed during the creation of Dynaudio's acclaimed Confidence, Special Forty, and Core series. This includes the internal Hexis dome, which sits just below the diaphragm and refines the airflow behind the playing surface to smooth the frequency response and reduce unwanted resonances. The magnet system is optimized and uses a strontium carbonate Ferrite+ ceramic design that increases tweeter sensitivity. It brings out incredible detail and ensures a natural treble response. That means an extremely low level of listening fatigue, so you can listen longer. And with Focus 10, that is exactly what you will want to do.

The 14 cm Esotec+ midrange and woofer is the best Dynaudio has ever created for a speaker of this size. They created it using the experience they gained during the development of the new Contour series. The new and improved magnet system extends the frequency response at lower frequencies, and because the cabinet is sealed, Dynaudio has been able to extend low-frequency performance down to trouser-flapping depths.

As beautiful as it sounds

Focus 10 would not be a Dynaudio speaker if it did not look incredible. It is available in four beautiful finishes – Blond Wood, Walnut Wood, Black High Gloss, and White High Gloss – each developed to complement real homes. After all, not everyone wants to rearrange their living room around their speakers.
