Recommended in podcast: Three strong speakers in different price ranges
In a new podcast, "Vinyl & hi-fi", which we created together with the vinyl retailer Lakridspizza, Thomas Mørk from Lydspecialisten explains why Dynaudio Emit 30 is one of the best speakers for the price.
Perfect for larger stereo systems or home theater
If you are looking for a bit more power from your system, you have found it. Emit 30 is a compact 2.5-way speaker designed to impress whether it is used as a standalone stereo pair or as part of a 5.1-channel (or more) home theater.
Like its little brother, Emit 10, it uses the 14 cm MSP woofers found in the Evoke series. Unlike Emit 10, the woofers are doubled in each speaker, giving you better bass reproduction, a clearer midrange, and more punch. MSP stands for Magnesium Silicate Polymer, a material that Dynaudio has developed for its woofers and used for decades - even in its most acclaimed high-end models. MSP provides exactly the right combination of lightness, stiffness, and damping (which they have tuned and refined over the years) to deliver control and direct power. Right where it is needed.
“Not only is it a good speaker, the Dynaudio Emit 30 throws down a gauntlet to other brands; if Dynaudio can do something like the Emit 30, why the **** can’t you? - Alan Sircom, Hi-Fi+
HIGHLIGHTS
-
Designed and developed in Denmark
The entire Emit series has been thoroughly tested in our advanced Jupiter measurement facility at Dynaudio Labs. We treat it in exactly the same way as all other speakers in our range – nothing is left to chance.
-
Cerotar tweeter
Emit uses the highly acclaimed Cerotar tweeter from our Evoke series. It is a high-performance tweeter inspired by our flagship Confidence and Heritage Special models, and it includes the innovative Hexis inner dome, which reduces unwanted resonances.
- Clean and simple design
Every speaker in the Emit series is designed to fit into modern lifestyles and interiors. Clean lines, simple finishes, and a minimalist Scandinavian expression – whether you listen in stereo or have a complete multichannel system.
Premium woofer technology
The cones are molded in one piece; we do not use a separate, glued-on dust cap. The small balancing ribs around the center are directly connected to the voice coil behind it, making the entire motor system one unified, solid unit.
Fewer moving parts give our engineers precise control over how the speaker moves – and therefore also over how it performs. You will hear it as powerful, tight bass and impressively clear vocals, guitars, and much more. Even at very high volume levels.
Each woofer is driven by a double-stacked magnet system with strontium carbonate Ferrite+ ceramic magnets. By using two magnets, we can control the magnetic energy more efficiently – a technique we developed while working on the award-winning Special Forty anniversary series, and which we can now use in our entry-level series.
The target of all this magnetic flux is the voice coil. In Emit 30, we use aluminum windings. Aluminum is light (which minimizes inertia in the cone's back-and-forth movement), and because it is lighter than copper wire, we can pack more windings onto the two-layer fiberglass former. More windings mean more power and better control over fine movements. However, there is a twist: we have coated the aluminum wire with a very thin layer of copper to further improve the amplifier's control over the voice coil. More power with minimal weight increase – win-win.
High-performance Cerotar tweeter
While the dual 14 cm mid/woofer drivers handle the midrange and bass, the tweeter takes care of the high frequencies. Emit may be an entry-level speaker, but we certainly have not used a standard unit; it is equipped with the impressive Cerotar tweeter (the same one used in the Evoke series). It is based on the Esotar Forty anniversary tweeter as well as Esotar Pro from our Core studio reference speakers – and it has to be heard to be believed.
The 28 mm coated soft-dome diaphragm is supported by the smart Hexis inner dome. The diaphragm surface is designed to deliver extremely clear and detailed high frequencies without distortion (even at high volume levels), while Hexis optimizes the airflow behind it and reduces unwanted resonances. An aluminum voice coil and a magnet system with optimized airflow provide the power. Cerotar is developed for high performance without listening fatigue – perfect for long listening sessions (and we know you music lovers appreciate that).
The rear bass port has dual flares (one internal and one external) and is tuned to minimize unwanted air noise. Foam plugs are included and can be used to optimize performance depending on the speaker's placement relative to the wall.
Danish-designed cabinet
Emit 30’s cabinets are made from 18 mm MDF, providing a solid and stable platform for the drivers. Inside, they are damped with polyester fibers, carefully measured down to the gram to ensure optimal damping of resonances.
On the outside, you can choose between three specially designed laminate finishes: black, white, or walnut. They are selected to fit into any room and any setup (so if you combine different Emit speakers in a home theater system, you can make them either stand out or blend in discreetly).
Emit 30 is a powerful floorstanding speaker with impressive performance in a compact format. If you want to take your listening experience to the next level, they will truly make your music collection bloom.
