Børresen DCC5 NEO – Developed for precision and dynamics

The heart of the Børresen C1 is the specially developed DCC5 NEO woofer/midrange driver. It is engineered with a focus on low distortion and high precision, so that both voices and instruments are reproduced with a natural tone and a high level of detail.

The diaphragm consists of two layers of spread-tow carbon fiber around a honeycomb core. The design provides high stiffness combined with low weight, reducing unwanted resonances and ensuring fast, controlled reproduction across the entire operating range.

Advanced motor system with effective control

Behind the driver operates an advanced magnetic motor system with double copper caps around the pole rings. The design reduces inductance and electromagnetic interference, providing better control over the diaphragm's movements.

The result is a more linear reproduction with low distortion and a high degree of precision – even with complex musical pieces, where dynamics and detail place great demands on the speaker.

RP94 ribbon tweeter with impressive resolution

The tweeter in the Børresen C1 is the well-known RP94 ribbon tweeter, which is developed to reproduce the highest frequencies with great speed and precision.

The extremely lightweight diaphragm responds quickly to even the smallest signals and delivers an airy, open, and nuanced reproduction. This means that the instruments' overtones, sense of space, and the small details in the recording are preserved naturally without sounding sharp or intrusive.

Serial crossover with a focus on coherence

Børresen uses a serial crossover, where the speaker's drivers work closely together to create a coherent and phase-correct reproduction.

This construction is more complex than traditional crossovers, but it contributes to a homogeneous sound image where the transition between bass, midrange, and treble feels natural and effortless.

Resonance-optimized cabinet

The cabinet is constructed from an internally braced wood composite material that reduces standing waves and unwanted resonances. On the outside, the sides are clad with 1 mm carbon fiber panels, which further increase the rigidity of the construction.

This provides a stable foundation for the units and contributes to a clean and controlled sound reproduction. At the same time, the high-gloss polished side panels emphasize the speaker's exclusive appearance.

Dedicated C1 stands with Ansuz Darkz S2t

Børresen C1 is delivered including the specially developed C1 stands, which are an integrated part of the speaker's overall design.

The stands are made from the same wood composite material as the speaker and are designed without iron components to minimize unwanted magnetic interference. They are also equipped with Ansuz Darkz S2t Resonance Control, which helps reduce vibrations and create optimal working conditions for the speaker.

For the dedicated enthusiast, it is also possible to expand with multiple Darkz units as part of a future optimization setup.
