Børresen RP94 ribbon tweeter

A2 uses Børresen's RP94 planar ribbon tweeter. The extremely light diaphragm is made of nylon/aramid with an aluminum coating and weighs just 0.01 gram. The low moving mass allows the tweeter to respond quickly to changes in the signal and reproduce even small details with high precision.

The tweeter operates from 2.5 kHz and up and has a sensitivity of 94 dB.

DCC5s drivers with low mass

For bass and midrange, Børresen A2 uses DCC5s drivers. The diaphragm consists of an aramid honeycomb core between two layers of carbon fiber. The combination provides high stiffness and low mass, allowing the diaphragm to move precisely and in a controlled manner.

The motor system uses ferrite magnets and double copper caps that reduce inductance around the voice coil. A titanium former for the voice coil also contributes high stiffness and low weight. The construction is developed to reduce distortion and provide a fast and precise response.

Focus on noise and resonance control

Børresen has worked with acoustic, electrical, and mechanical noise in the development of the A series. Low-mass, high-stiffness drivers are combined with a crossover developed with a focus on coherence and minimal signal loss. The cabinet is also designed with damping and resonance control in mind.

Børresen A2 can also be used together with Ansuz Darkz resonance control. The speaker is designed to be able to integrate these units, which work mechanically with vibrations between the speaker and the surface beneath it.

A floor-standing speaker for serious hi-fi

Børresen A2 combines advanced drivers with a modern Scandinavian look. The speaker has a frequency range of 35 Hz to 50 kHz, a sensitivity of 89 dB/1W, and an impedance above 6 ohms. Børresen recommends an amplifier of more than 50 watts.

With its dimensions of 113.2 × 30 × 57.8 cm and a weight of 44 kg, A2 is a striking floor-standing design for the listening room.
