Audiovector QR 5 SE – floorstanding speaker with fullness and detail

Audiovector QR 5 SE is a 3-way floorstanding speaker that combines full-bodied bass with detailed and pleasant treble. It brings together the Gold Leaf AMT 2 tweeter with a 6" Pure Piston midrange driver and two 6" Pure Piston bass drivers in a slim, Scandinavian cabinet.

The speaker is suitable for both music and home theater, where the focus is on the balance between dynamics, precision, and a cohesive soundstage.

From bass lines to the small details

QR 5 SE's bass and midrange drivers use three-layer sandwich diaphragms that combine aluminum with softer, damping materials. The construction contributes to low distortion and precise reproduction of bass rhythms, voices, and instruments.

The Gold Leaf AMT 2 tweeter handles the high frequencies, while Audiovector's S-Stop filter helps control sharp s-sounds and unwanted hiss. This provides a detailed and pleasant treble that plays naturally together with the rest of the soundstage.

The SE improvements are beneath the surface

In the SE version, Audiovector has upgraded the crossover with specially developed, double cryogenically treated capacitors. The internal copper wiring is also cryogenically treated, while metal-encased resistors improve heat dissipation.

The cabinet has also been given NanoPore™ damping, which supports a more open midrange. At the same time, the bass reflex system has been optimized with a focus on greater precision.

Together, the improvements contribute to a more detailed, dynamic, and natural reproduction, where the different elements of the music have room without losing cohesion.

The downward-facing Q-port bass reflex supports full-bodied and controlled bass and provides flexibility in placement. The room's acoustics still matter for the sound, while the adjustable spikes help ensure a stable setup.
