Ansuz Mainz X3 – hi-fi power cable
Ansuz Mainz X3 is not a hi-fi power cable like all the others. It has been developed based on the same uncompromising approach to materials research and technological innovation that has made Ansuz a recognized name among hi-fi enthusiasts around the world.
The name Ansuz comes from the rune "Ansuz", which in Norse mythology is associated with wisdom, clarity, and truth. These are values that are reflected in the company’s approach to sound reproduction and in its ambition to convey music as close to the artist’s original intention as possible.
The philosophy behind Ansuz
All materials used in a hi-fi system affect tone, dynamics, and the overall musical experience. This is especially true of audio cables and power cables, which are constantly affected by both electromagnetic and mechanical interference.
At Ansuz, the philosophy is to reduce these negative influences as much as possible – and preferably eliminate them at the source. Through extensive development work, advanced materials research, and countless tests, Ansuz has developed new methods to minimize noise and unwanted resonances that can limit the full potential of a hi-fi system.
Goodbye to aluminum
The biggest news in the third generation of Ansuz cables is the decision to do away with aluminum.
Aluminum is both lightweight and cost-effective, but according to Ansuz, the material also adds an artificial and at times brittle character to sound reproduction. At the same time, aluminum can amplify unwanted micro-vibrations, which blend with the audio signal and create noise and blurring.
Instead of trying to suppress these vibrations afterward, Ansuz has chosen to remove the root cause itself. This is an approach that characterizes the development of the entire Generation 3 series – including Ansuz Mainz X3.
New choice of materials: Stainless steel, copper, and titanium
In the third generation, the aluminum components are replaced by carefully selected materials:
- Stainless steel in the X3 and P3 series
- Copper in the A3, C3, and D3 series
- Titanium in the D-TC3, D-TC Supreme, and D-TC Gold Signature series
In Ansuz Mainz X3, stainless steel is used as a central part of the construction. The material has been chosen for its mechanical properties and its ability to control resonances more effectively than aluminum.
The new materials have been carefully selected to ensure better damping of micro-vibrations and thereby a cleaner, more musical reproduction. By removing the cause rather than merely treating the symptoms, Ansuz has set new standards for how a modern hi-fi power cable can be designed.
Each and every Ansuz Mainz X3 is the result of many years of experience, fresh thinking, and the willingness to challenge industry conventions. The result is a power cable that conveys the music with impressive clarity, naturalness, and detail – even when the rest of the system places the highest demands.
