Aavik U-288 - High-power streaming amplifier with DAC and advanced noise control

Aavik U-288 is a high-end streaming amplifier that combines a streamer, DAC, preamplifier, and power amplifier in one elegant solution. It builds on the technology from the U-188 with advanced noise reduction and ample headroom in the sound reproduction.

With 2 x 300 watts into 8 ohms, Pascal Class D amplification, and UMAC modulation, the Aavik U-288 combines high power with control and a calm, detailed presentation. At the same time, the integrated streaming makes the amplifier well suited to a modern high-end setup where music, DAC, and amplification are gathered in a single component.

Aavik U-288 combines power and control

The U-288 uses Pascal amplification with fast UMAC modulation. The design combines high efficiency and low noise with control over the speakers.

This gives the music energy and ease without compromising calmness and balance. Dynamic shifts are reproduced quickly and effortlessly, while the small details in the recording remain clear.

Integrated streaming and DAC

The built-in streamer provides access to high-resolution music and supports TIDAL Connect, among others. DAC, streaming, and amplification are combined in the same component, keeping the signal path short and stable.

This creates a simple high-end system with fewer separate components and makes it easy to integrate streaming as a central part of the daily music experience.

Advanced noise reduction

Electrical noise can affect the fine details in a hi-fi system. That is why the Aavik U-288 uses several noise-control technologies, including Tesla coils, square Tesla coils, and analog dither.

The U-288 has 72 active Tesla coils, 144 active square Tesla coils, and six analog dither circuits. These technologies are integrated into the design to reduce electrical noise and create better working conditions for the signal.

The result is a quieter background with better focus, as well as greater perceived depth and air between the instruments.

Protection against RF noise

Eight anti-aerial resonance coils help limit the impact of RF noise in the surroundings. This reduces the interference that cables and electronics can pick up from wireless signals.

The goal is to give the music better working conditions and preserve a calm, undisturbed presentation.

Fast and lively presentation

Aavik U-288 responds quickly to transients and dynamic shifts. As a result, drums, piano, and string instruments gain a precise and lively character, while the finer nuances in the recording are easier to follow.

Developed for modern high-end systems

Aavik U-288 was developed by Flemming Erik Rasmussen and Michael Børresen. The cabinet is constructed with a focus on resonance control and stable materials to create good working conditions for the electronics.

At the same time, the simple design and integrated construction make the U-288 a natural part of a modern high-end audio system, where streaming and traditional hi-fi meet in the same solution.
