JBL Synthesis SDR-40 is an advanced 16-channel AV receiver that combines powerful Class G amplification, advanced surround processing, and modern streaming in one solution. With nine built-in amplifier channels, support for Dolby Atmos, DTS Pro, Auro-3D, and IMAX Enhanced, as well as Dirac Live Room Correction, the SDR-40 is designed for home theaters where both sound quality and flexibility are the focus.

The receiver makes it easy to build a complete home theater from a single chassis and can later be expanded with external power amplifiers if your needs grow.

Powerful AV receiver with built-in amplification

JBL Synthesis SDR-40 combines a surround processor and power amplification in a single chassis. The nine built-in Class G amplifiers can drive the speakers directly, providing a strong foundation for a serious home theater without the need for external power amplifiers.

If more channels or higher output are desired, the receiver can easily be expanded via the pre-out outputs.

Supports the latest surround formats

SDR-40 supports Dolby Atmos, DTS Pro, Auro-3D, and IMAX Enhanced, allowing you to build both traditional surround systems and advanced object-based home theaters.

The flexible Matrix Channel Assignment makes it possible to adapt the channel allocation to both the size of the room and the speaker setup.

Dirac Live room correction

The integrated Dirac Live Room Correction analyzes the speaker placement and the room's acoustics to optimize frequency response, phase, and timing.

If even more advanced calibration is desired, Dirac ART can be added as an upgrade for further optimization of the interaction between the speakers and the listening room.

HDMI 2.1 for movies, gaming, and music

With HDMI 2.1, JBL Synthesis SDR-40 supports both 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz. The receiver is therefore well suited for modern TVs, game consoles, and media players.

For music streaming, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Roon Ready are supported, so you can easily play music from a wide range of services and devices.

An AV receiver that can grow with your system

SDR-40 is designed with flexibility in mind. You can start with the built-in amplifier channels and later expand the system with external power amplifiers if the home theater needs more channels or more power.
