Engineering art in its purest form

The D8is is an example of how advanced technology and elegant design can come together in perfect harmony. The cabinet is made of solid, extruded aluminum, which combines strength, low weight and excellent resonance control. The slim, vertical format makes it easy to place, while presenting itself as an aesthetic piece of furniture in its own right.

Inside the cabinet, eight 8” drivers operate in a push/pull configuration that eliminates cabinet mechanical vibrations by balancing opposing forces between the units. This design reduces distortion to a level where even the deepest notes are reproduced with purity and speed, without any resonance or coloration.

Power and control in a class of its own

The external amplifier delivers 3,000 watts RMS and uses a 48-bit DSP with a 32-bit ARM Cortex M4 processor for signal processing. This digital engine monitors and corrects gain, timing and protection in real time – with microsecond precision. The result is a subwoofer that responds instantly, whether playing the lowest organ notes or explosive movie sequences.

The D8is uses a closed-cabinet principle (acoustic suspension) that provides tight, precise and well-controlled bass reproduction. The frequency response extends down to 14 Hz, and the amplifier has both balanced XLR, unbalanced RCA and digital AES3/EBU inputs for maximum flexibility.

Advanced digital control

Like the rest of the Perlisten range, the D8is offers full DSP control via its 2.8” LCD touchscreen and the Perlisten app for iOS and Android. Here you can adjust the low-pass filter, phase, EQ and level, save user profiles and choose from three factory presets – THX, Boost and Cut – optimised for different room sizes and setups.

The amplifier has a completely passive cooling system without fans, ensuring completely silent operation. The thermal design is so efficient that it can deliver full power for long periods without overheating.

Flexible installation and uncompromising sound

D8is comes with a wall bracket and vibration-damping mounting system, so it can be used as both an in-wall and on-wall solution. Alternatively, it can be placed free-standing on the optional base, where it appears as an elegant sculptural column in brushed, black anodized aluminum.

The extremely rigid construction combined with the vibration-free push/pull construction makes the D8is ideal in installations where sound quality and structural integration must be combined at the highest level.
